We are a local church with a fresh vision under new leadership. We love God and love to experience His presence. We believe that God has given us a message of hope, healing and restoration and has called us to be a voice of influence to those in the surrounding communities. We desire to see people become mature followers of Christ and to use their God-given gifts and talents to be a blessing to those who are in need.

Our Core Values

God’s Presence

We gather corporately to experience the manifest presence of God; He inhabits the praises of His people.

God’s Word

We believe the Bible is the infallible word of God & from it we can gain spiritual nourishment to live a life surrendered to Christ.

God’s People

We welcome all God’s people regardless of race, background, social status, or religious affiliation to be a part of our family.

Generosity

We don’t just teach it, we live it. We give to those who aren’t able to give back.

Servanthood

We exist to help and serve others.

Community

We are a family of believers; it’s not just about church, we do life together!

Our Pastors

Chap’s ministry started at a young age. Being raised in the church and gifted musically, he served as a musician, songwriter, and worship leader. He later attended Holmes College of the Bible, in Greenville, South Carolina, and then entered in full time church ministry, serving three different local churches, becoming a Pastor of Music and Arts, a position that he held through September, 2015.

Kristie was also very active growing up in her local church and developed a great interest in the arts and theater. She chose to pursue nursing as a career and earned a Baccalaureate degree from Old Dominion University. Her heart is taking care of the elderly and she does so through her own family care facility, located in the heart of Great Bridge.

Chap and Kristie met on a missions trip to Romania in 1992 and were married the following year. They have served side by side in ministry for the last 24 years. They have raised a family of three boys and have lived in Chesapeake since 1998.

In early 2015, God began to stir Chap and Kristie’s heart concerning a change in their position in ministry. Through a series of events, and being led by God’s Spirit, the door opened for them to become the lead pastors here at Heritage Church. They assumed the role in May, 2016.

“We are so excited to have been given this opportunity to serve along side such a great group of people. God has big things in store for us! What an opportunity! What a privilege! We love you all!” – Chap & Kristie Chappell
